Description (CMS Description)
Circular wood carved from a solid piece of dark ?vesi wood, on a short pedestal base. The bowl is much larger than the base. Several length of hibiscus fibre (vau) tied around the base. A length of twisted coir (magimagi) tied to the hibiscus fibre strip and looped at the distal end. The base has been hollowed out.The outer surface is very faceted. Inside the bowl, Light brown patina, with same colouring as yaqona powder, covers the surface of bowl except for the area just under the lip. The lower part of the lip is grooved. The lip of bowl is quite thick and severely chipped.
