Description (CMS Description)
Large yaqona strainer carved from a single piece of vesi wood, very dark. In the shape of a large half coconut, with very thick walls and a side funnel projection. A hole is pierced in the cavity to connect to the funnel The rim of the strainer is flat and the outer edge of it is serrated. The sides of the funnel, at the top and bottom are also serrated. A Small inverted U-shaped lug is carved on the side of the strainer and pierced with two holes through which is inserted a thin cord of 3-ply plaited coconut fibre. Several very large cracks in the wood on the lip. The inside of the cavity is chipped and stained. 'Z. 3467' and 'O.X.555.H.' inscribed in white ink on the side of the strainer near the funnel. 'Z. 3467' inscribed in white ink underneath the funnel.
