Large ring of vegetable fibre used as a stand for yaqona cups. Thick and filled with vegetable fibre (coir and possibly some pandanus are visible through the holes in the weaving). The outter surface made of a woven 3-ply plaited coir. A thin length of 3-ply plaited coir is inserted into the width of the object to act as a ?suspension cord. A small metal label attached to the object reads [handwritten in black ink:] 'Z. 3486' on both sides.

Ring, of vegetable fibre, covered with sennet, diameter 7 1/2 inches, on which to stand a vessel of circular shape, "stand of sinnet for bilo = cup".' [stamped in black ink:] 'THE VON HÜGEL COLLECTION CIRCA 1875.' [added in pencil:] 'Ring F 38'. [in pencil in the bottom left corner:] '13/225'. [stamped in red ink:] 'CUMAA 30 JUL 1987 TRANSCRIBED'. [stamped in blue ink in the bottom right corner:] 'SHOW CASE NUMBER 13'. A small round red sticker pasted to the front of the card. A black and white photograph of the object stapled to the back of the card.
