Description (CMS Description)
Small container, water pot, of glazed ceramic in the shape of a turtle. One end with two back legs and a cylindrical spout projecting upwards in place of a tail. The other end with two front legs and a head (a hole pierced through the head to create the eyes, two incisions for the nose and two notches for the mouth). A large circular aperture near the base of the head. The top of the pot is incised with rectangles (some filled with incised dots), creating a pattern reminiscent of that of a turtle shell. The lower part of the pot is not decorated. Several cracks around the legs, spout and head. One of the back legs has been broken off and glued back to the pot.
