Description (CMS Description)
Circular priests' yaqona dish, dark coloured, carved from a solid piece of vesi wood, with a cylindrical pedestal base. Length of base has 5 legs that each separate into 2 legs about two-thirds of the way down. Each divided leg becomes joined with that of its neighbour making 5 legs attached to the circular, footed base which is 14.5cm. Hatch marks evident on inner side of pedestal. Plaited length of coir (magimagi) is tied around one of the bottom legs. Top surface of dish is shallow with a curved lip and has a slight light brown patina.
