Description (CMS Description)
Headrest of wood with very dark-coloured legs and a lighter brown bar. The bar is rectangular in section (56.8 cm long x 9.7 cm wide max.) and slightly flaring and curving upwards at both ends. At the back, the bar is carved with a very slight longitudinal ridge and two lugs to which are bound with 3-ply plaited coir two legs. Each leg is arch-shaped and provided with two flat round feet. The inside of the arch is carved in openwork with a transversal serrated bar above a lozenge-shaped pattern resting on its own platform connected to each feet by serrated bars. One foot is chipped. The bar is probably a replacement for an older one, which would explain the difference in wood colour between legs and bar.
