Very heavy club of dark wood, totokia ('pineapple' club). The head is circular in section (about 11 cm diameter) and carved with 8 rows of projecting spikes (some chipped). From the centre of the head projects a conical beak (about 8.4 cm long), slightly chipped at the end. The shaft is curved at the top and circular in section. The entirety of the shaft is carved with very fine tavatava patterns (Tongan carving?) and includes several figures: a man eaten by a shark, a man holding a totokia club, a hybrid man-turtle, a turtle, a hammerhead shark, another shark, two ?fish or ?sharks, a bird, another turtle, a man holding a culacula paddle, a man and a quadruped (pig or dog?). Flat discoidal butt. The rim of the butt is carved with two lines of zigzags and the butt is decorated with ?burnt dots.
