Description (CMS Description)
Necklace (sisi) formed of 10 whale teeth pierced at the top and strung on a cord formed of nine fine strands of 3-ply plaited coir. A length of black barkcloth is woven around the central cord and between the teeth. The front of the teeth is of a light cream colour with the natural patterns of the teeth forming grey lines, while the back is has a honey colour. The cord is weak and fraying. 'Z. 2726' and '1884.M39' inscribed in black ink on the first tooth from the right.
