Description (CMS Description)
Flat satchel, made from strips of natural and black-dyed pandanus leaf. Large weave inside the basket and on the bottom, forming a large natural colour chequer pattern. Both sides are decorated with four rows of alternating chevrons pointing upwards in black and white. A band of small weave (3.5 cm high) at the top of the basket, forming a small natural colour chequer pattern. On one side, a loop of coiled 3-ply plaited coir is attached to the top of the basket. On the other side, several strands of 3-ply plaited coir are knotted and plaited together (3-ply). Both coir cords used to fastened the basket.
