Barkcloth beater carved from a solid piece of wood. The beater is almost rectangular in section. The long sides are carved with longitudinal grooves and the short sides are left un-carved. The top of the beater is very slightly convex. The handle is circular in section with a slightly convex base. The objects curves sideways. 'Z. 3814' and '1884.M32.' inscribed in white ink on the top of the handle. 'Z. 3814' inscribed in white ink on the base of the handle. Something illegible inscribed in orange crayon on the top of the beater.
