Exhibited: On display in 'Eye land Part II: Welcome 2 da K'lub', an installation (in the long wall case, Andrews Gallery) curated by Rosanna Raymond as part of Pasifika Styles, MAA May 2006-March 2007.
The skirt and associated skirt, 2008.15, and necklace 1891.93.4, were used to dress the Fijian figure, Z 2869 as part of Raymond's commentary and intervention on MAA’s collection

Context (Field collection)
Probably collected by the English Quaker minister, Daniel Wheeler, (1771- 1840), the great uncle of donor Dr George S Brady. Wheeler undertook a mission tour of eastern Australia and the islands of the South Seas in the Henry Freeling with his son Charles, November 1833 - ending in Van Diemen’s Land in August 1834.

The museum's Brady label is pasted to the rear of an older early 19th century handwritten paper label, possibly from the collector, Daniel Wheeler (see headrest Z 5011). This is attached with a string cord and reads 'Tongziese [sic] Bone Necklace-st
