Description
Shield with circular, conical body with rim turned upwards. Made of hide, the front covered with pink velvet and decorated with applied plates of thin brass in the form of strips, openwork panels, small bosses, etc. these metal appliqués being themselves decorated with panelled groovings in scroll and other designs. This is a chief's shield.
