Copper alloy processional cross. Consists of an openwork head attached to a rectangular fitting for a handle. Head features designs cut in using an ajouré technique; a small cross is at top, and bird motifs are present along the edges. Carried by priests of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.

Catalogue card for 1941.100 A-B:
'A: Bronze or copper "crosshead" with tenon at base to fit into handle - actually a lozenge-shaped plate, carved ajouré with interlacing, terminating in bird-heads, with a Maltese cross forming the central element of the pattern.
B: Smaller bronze or copper "cross", complete in itself (i.e. no place for handle), consisting of a larger and a smaller lozenge-shaped plate joined by a straight shaft, all flat and carved ajouré with interlacing, etc.'
