Description

Mortar or vessel for grinding with lid. Turned wooden cylindrical vessel with very thick base, covered with pieces of hide; leather straps around the base of the vessel and up the sides, forming two looped handles; conical lid covered with hide and attached to mortar with a length of leather. Some hair remaining on hide.
