The record for this object previously indicated the Hawaiian Islands (in particular the island of 'Fate') as the geographical provenance of this object. This does not match the collections made by Layard, nor has it been possible to find a place called 'Fate' in the Hawaiian Islands. The origin of this confusion is unknown, but the object has now been re-associated to Vanuatu [previously New Hebrides].
