Lapau, piece of barkcloth used for men’s headdresses. A rectangular length of barkcloth made from the bark of the Banyan tree and dyed in shades of orange and brown with turmeric and plant pigments. Decorated with densely patterned quadrangles in a grid pattern, eight by five.
