Description
Skin; Raw Materials; Natural Objects - Dried and flattened skin, feathers, claws and beak still present, eyes and innards missing, stuffed with cotton wool and a rough stick. Golden and dark brown tawny plumage, soft white plumage on underside. Primary tail feathers have been clipped to prevent flight so bird must have been kept captive before death. Identified by Ray Symonds, Zoology Museum, Cambridge University, as Haliastur Sphenurus, Whistling Kite (16/5/88). Very similar to specimen of this species in the Zoology Museum from Australia.
