Description
Ornament - Two cut boar's tusks inserted into transcepts of cross-shaped string work tail. Tail covered with nassa shells. Two conus shell rings attached by twine binding to top of tail. Nassa shells partly coloured brown by body pigments (?). Original accession notes: " A string pendant with rings for pinning into bored nasal septum. Ornamented with pigs tusks and nassa shells. Used by men in big totemic dances called TSHUGU KEPMA MBUANGGO (TSHUGU = sort of, KEPMA = clay, MBUANGGO = dance)." Good
