There are two catalogue cards related to this Taonga.
Catalogue card 1 for 1909.16, handwritten in black ink, notes, 'Neck pendant. (4".2x3".8)'. Later annotation (undated) in black point pen reads, '(hei matau) of unusual size, carved in mottled jade with expanding ends / the outer edge being serrated, hook shaped. Ancient form.' And another annotation in a different hand 'See Z 6473'.
Catalogue card 2 for Z 6473, in typescript, reads, notes 'Jade hook neck pendant, n.n. HEI MATARE [this word crossed out; undated] MATAU with serrated edges.' Red typescript reads 'Lent to Burlington Fine Arts Club, 1935'.
Both cards bear a red round sticker.
