A new label with the number Z 33785 C was attached during the DCF textile Project. The item D was only marked with the numbers 214 C; 13 A9A. Description (Physical description)
Dual band of red wool joined with coloured wool strips of blue, red, green and yellow - the whole lined with cream cotton; coloured woollen drops/pendants of red, yellow and green with tassels of metallic paper straws and wool squares. 35 drops in total.

Context (Amendments / updates)
W.W. Skeat made two collections in Southeast Asia. The first was made while he was District Magistrate in Selangor, Malaysia in 1896-1897 and is known as the First Skeat Collection or Skeat I. The Second was made in 1899-1900 on the Cambridge Exploring Expedition to the Malay Provinces of Lower Siam and known as the Second Skeat Collection, or Skeat II. Most objects were not given accession numbers on acquisition by MAA, and given Z Numbers during reorganisation in the 1980s. Several objects presumed to be from the Skeat Collections, but which cannot be traced either to an existing Z number or to Skeat’s catalogues, have been given TEMP numbers. Some of these are definitely Skeat, and some are not. The work of matching objects to their Skeat catalogue numbers is ongoing and likely to remain incomplete.

Description (Physical description)
Long multicoloured rectangular wedding curtain fringe or ornate border with wool pendants. Dual band of red wool joined with coloured woollen thin strips of purple, red, green and yellow with some arranged in 'x' and other lined vertically in groups of three separating the 'x'. The back is lined with cream cotton cloth. 35 leaf shaped pendants in red, yellow and green; from the pendants hang tassels of red, yellow and green wool squares alternating with metal cylindrical small tubes. Some pendants no longer have the tassels. The back for all pendants is made from paper with the third pendant (counted from the left) having a paper back with Arabic writing on it.
