Description (Physical description)
Described by Mr Rowntree (1951) as "tatami kabuto" with "kesan shikoro" ?xix century. A folding helmet used in conjunction with other folding armour when travelling. The whole was contrived so as to pack into a small box or bag, easily carried. The "shikoro" (neck guard) of this helmet shows Korean influence. The socket on the front is for the attachment of the "mai date" (front crest). These pieces are rather uncommon."
