Catalogue card for 1974.241 notes 'Purchased from Mr R. Brooks, (R.A.F. Marham) 1973 (£10).
Nuclear testing at Maralinga was undertaken by No. 49 Squadron [British) Royal Air Force using V-bombers (Vickers Valiant), beginning with Operation Buffalo in 1956, leading to plutonium contamination and radiation exposure. The squadron relocated to RAF Marham in 1961, but disbanded in 1965.

Register notes that 1974.241-148 were purchased in Woomera in 1964-65. From 1956 to 1963, the UK conducted seven nuclear tests at Maralinga, South Australia, which was part of the Woomera Prohibited Area.
