Context (Field collection)
Donated by Walter William Skeat and noted only as West Indies, but probably collected by his younger brother, Arthur Percival Skeat, J.P., Crown Surveyor, and planter from Londonderry, Dominica. He laid out the boundaries of the Carib reserve in Dominica in 1902.
Walter Skeat also gave Dominican material collected by his brother to the Pitt Rivers Museum in 1898.

Description (Physical description)
Undecorated wooden walking stick. With a straight cylindrical shaft, slightly enlarged at head and square- sectioned at one end, tapering to cylindrical. It is unclear if the handle/head is missing, indicated by socketed section at one end, or if the handle is the cylindrcial section at the other end. Both show slight signs of wear.

Context (Amendments / updates)
It is likely that the items in the series 1937.1320-2325 are also from the Carib settlement in Dominica but the register entry is left blank after the initial entry of 'West Indies' for 1937.1320.
