Description

Carved wooden totem pole bearing five creatures which include an owl, a beaver and a bear. The other creatures are not readily identifiable. The totem pole is painted with red, blue, green and black which accentuates the carved details. Probably Reckitts blue.

Likely the same carver as 1922.1068 and 1922.1069.

It is a totem pole typical of those carved for sale in the 1920's and 30' s, indeed it has $4.00 price penciled on its back.
The style of this pole leads me to suggest it could be Tsimshian, however without provenance it is hard to accurately assert an identity

The totem pole is painted with red, blue, green and black which accentuates the carved details. The totem pole is mounted on a blue platform so it stands upright very easily.
