Description (Physical description)
Rectangular basket with lid and strap. The decoration on the basket is made from dyed straw, and has the initials " C.H.P" on one side. The strap is red and green, made from wool, and has leather strips attaching it to the basket. European influenced.

Catalogue card reads, 'Indian basket, rectangular w. lid & strap. Dyed straw forms decoration. Red & green woolly strap held on by leather strips (raw hide). European influenced; initials CHP on one side. Obtained at a country fair in 1974.'

A red round sticker on the upper right corner. An 'x' crossed out in the middle. Date and purpose unknown.

Historical measurements noted 'L: 24 cm / W: 7 cm / H: 16 cm / strap shoulder length'.

'Coton' was written underneath the purchaser Farida Davidson's name. Meaning unknown.
