Catalogue card: 'Headrest of smooth, dark wood. Roughly rectangular, with curved upper edge. Decorated on front, back and sides with hatching and cross hatching. Small, rectangular projection on one side, with hole through the centre'

'This object seems quite similar to the Ekcholong described above [MAA 1997.22]. The place where this object was collected, North East Africa also happens to be the location of the Turkana as they today neighbour Ethiopia. If it was collected from an Ethiopian community, this must be a Galla stool who are known to use flat shaped smooth stools and this must be a shared heritage between two neighbouring communities. The Ethiopian stools are known for being simple but elegant.'

Description (Physical description)
Rectangular headrest of smooth, dark wood with bowing sides and a curved top edge. Decorated with grooved lines and cross hatching; chevrons on the narrow edges. There is a small, pierced lug on one side.
