Description (CMS Description)
Nineteen small whale teeth pierced at the top and strung on a cord of twisted hibiscus fibre. The cord is knotted three times at each end: once after the last tooth, another time about 2 cm further down and another time at the very end. The fourteenth tooth from the left is not pointy (might be a tooth from the back of the jaw of a sperm whale or an immature specimen). The fifteenth tooth from the left is pierced with two additional holes. The teeth have a rich honey colour at the front with a slightly darker shade at the back. The last tooth from the left is inscribed with '31.207' in black ink.
