Description
Bag or satchel [A] with pin badge [B] commemorating the 1974 coronation of His Majesty King Jigme Singye Wanhchuck. Rectangular bag of red, black, orange and brown stripes decorated with white and orange motifs in the floating weft; woven band of blue, orange, yellow, green, black and white sewn around the satchel with loose ends used as ties; Bhutanese flag in yellow and red felt stitched to the flap; lined with red cotton fabric with a stiff interface and interior pocket; circular pin badge with a side portrait of the king on a pink background, pinned to the inside of the flap. Originally contained photographs and documents BA3/2/9.

The printed Accession Register entry describes the satchel as containing 'papers and photographs etc. of visit to coronation'. These papers were noted as absent by Rachel Hand during the Shorts Inventory Project in 2001 and appear to have been transferred to the archives where they are documented as BA3/2/9.
