Context (Amendments / updates)
Description for 1988.442[.1-4]: 'This piece is no longer complete, but one of the seams has come unstitched, and the edging is now in two pieces. There are also two small pieces of embroidered edging, one with rose thread, and one which is navy with gold/yellow thread, and these were found wound around the pieces above to hold the bundle together.'
[The two pieces of border with peacocks do not seem to have ever been attached to one another as the edges do not match up, although the embroidery pattern is the same. They have now been assigned the suffix range .1-2, with the other short lengths being assigned suffixes .3 and .4. Katrina Dring, 21/05/2024]
