Edging embroidered by Chinese in Bombay for Parsee clothing decoration; purely decorative. Edging thought to have been purchased in London.

Sample of embroidered edging. Black silk background with white flower and leaf motif and running border. Flowers are white with purple centres. Motif is in good condition, background fabric is poor.

It is now in two pieces, lengthwise, and the black silk material is coming away from the embroidery throughout.

Description (Physical description)
An embroidered edging or border in two pieces. It is a rectangular strip of woven black silk embroidered with flower motifs in white silk thread with purple centres. Both edges are raw.
