Catalogue card: 'White metal and gilt Muslim belt consisting of impressioned squares and braided edged hanging discs stitched on to length of textile. Fastener is of silver filigree and chain-link. Fair condition. Whole.'

Description (Physical description)
Composite belt of gilded metal panels on a fabric backing and with a silver filigree pendant at the centre. Decorative square panels made from sheet metal with raised motifs of three cylinders with a diamond or cross on top; central panel has a single motif and is mounted at an angle to the rest; from each panel hang two concave disks of metal with twisted border; length of woven cream and pink striped cloth attached along the back of the panels; from the central panel hangs a pendant of silver chains and links, with a filigree element including flowers, hearts and leaves; hook and eye fastening from each end of the belt.
