Description (CMS Description)
Ear ornament formed of a gastropod shell (possible Terebra Maculata, Terebridae family). A bundle of vegetable fibre used to be inserted in the cavity of the shell (visible on the picture stapled to the catalogue card) but the vegetable fibre was found detached from the object in December 2011 and is now kept with the object in a separate bag. The apex is chipped and a very thin piece of string is coiled around it. 'Z. 2715' and '1923.H107' inscribed in black ink near the mouth of the shell.
