Description (Physical description)
Club of dark wood, possibly a cross between bowai and gadi. The wood is probably nokonoko (casuarina). The surface on one side of the club has turned grey. Round, slightly flared head. The handle is carved with tavatava patterns: two vertical bands of zigzags, one large horizontal panel of zigzags, two vertical bands of zigzags. The butt is flat and pierced with a circular hole. A small cord of twisted vegetable fibre is attached to the hole (L.Carreau, 25/03/2013).
