Originally in the possession of her grandfather the Rev. James Calvert.' [stamped in black ink:] 'CUMAA 10 JAN 1988 TRANSCRIBED'. A small round red sticker pasted to the front of the card.

Description (CMS Description)
Paddle club of dark wood, culacula. The head long and thin and slightly pointed at the top. The surface of the head divided in two by a slight slope running vertically. The side projections of the head are connected by a straight notched ridge. The notches (commemoration marks?) are very worn. One side projection has been broken and glued back. The shaft is circular in section. The handle (lower part of the shaft) is decorated with tavatava patterns forming horizontal bands of zigzags in low relief alternating with uncarved horizontal bands. The butt is slightly wider in section that the shaft and convex.
