Catalogue card 1 reads [handwritten in blue pen:] '64.150. Oceania. Fiji. Club (malumu) with carved grip. Donated by Miss M. G. Calvert 1964. Originally in the possession of her grandfather the Rev. James Calvert.' [stamped in black ink:] 'CUMAA 10 JAN 1988 TRANSCRIBED'. A small round red sticker pasted to the front of the card.

Description (CMS Description)
Thin club of dark wood, cross between a bowai (rounded head) and a gadi (straight shaft). Flared and rounded head. Very polished shaft. Handle carved with very sharp tavatava patterns (probably made with a metal tool), except one panel which has been left uncarved. Incised on that panel are the letters 'P', 'e', Nigimani' and another 'P'. Flat butt.
