This variety of club is called Nanda in Rewa. From district of Tonga, Rewa, Viti Levu. C & D G. K. Roth 1962'. [stamped in black ink:] 'CUMAA -9 JUN 1988 TRANSCRIBED'. A small round red sticker pasted to the front of the card.

Description (CMS Description)
Large spurred club of light wood, mada or gata. Large head carved with a lip (tebetebe). Large spur with a longitudinal ridge. Very small ridge (teretere) at the junction between the head and the spur. The shaft is entirely bound with strips of pandanus leaf, some natural, some dyed black, forming a chequerboard pattern. At the top, the strips have been divided into very thin strips to form a fringe. A length of white barkcloth (masi) is attached around the top with a piece of string. At the end of the shaft, the strips of pandanus form a thicker fringe. The butt is ovoid and tapers.
