Wainiika, Sanggani, Thakaundrove, Vanua Levu, Purchased. Donated G.K. Roth 1962'. [stamped in black ink:] 'CUMAA -6 JUN 1988 TRANSCRIBED'. [added in blue pen:] 'rolled'. A small round red sticker pasted to the front of the card. On the back of the card [in blue pen:] 'A= 87" x 49 1/2", 225 cm x 126 cm; B= 95" x 51" 242 cm x 131 cm; C= 80" x 45"; 201 cm x 114 cm; D= 75" x 48", 191 cm x 122 cm'.

Description (CMS Description)
Rectangular kula mat woven from thin strips of pandanus leaf (0.7cm). Two concentric internal borders of black striated triangles. Diagonal pattern in black in the centre. Black patterns not visible on the underside. Woollen border in blue, bright pink and orange and red fringe. Longer ties of yellow and orange wools attached to the corners. Good condition.
