Catalogue card 1 reads [handwritten in black pen:] '62.216 a/d. Oceania. Fiji. 4 pandanus floor mats with red wool border. The mats have centres patterns in black, each mat with a different design. Wainiika, Sanggani, Thakaundrove, Vanua Levu, Purchased. Donated G.K. Roth 1962'. [stamped in black ink:] 'CUMAA -6 JUN 1988 TRANSCRIBED'. [added in blue pen:] 'rolled'. A small round red sticker pasted to the front of the card. On the back of the card [in blue pen:] 'A= 87" x 49 1/2", 225 cm x 126 cm; B= 95" x 51" 242 cm x 131 cm; C= 80" x 45"; 201 cm x 114 cm; D= 75" x 48", 191 cm x 122 cm'.

Rectangular mat of pandanus leaf strips in natural colour and dyed black, fringed with wool. The strips of pandanus are about 1 cm wide. The main pattern in enclosed into a rectangle formed of black and white diagonal lines and is formed of four black and white chevrons. The edges of the mats are decorated with a border formed of black and white diagonal lines and fringed with wool. Double strands of blue, green and orange wool have been woven diagonally into the edges and long fringes of red wool projects outwards. Previous folding marks still visible on the object. Very flexible and very good condition
