Description
Lapikkaat. Pair of leather boots with thick leather soles and heel built up of three additional leather layers and a rubber sole. The leather sole has been nailed to the boot with wooden nails, the rubber with metal. The toe is square and turned upwards; shoe upper decorated with grooved lines. Tall leg, folded in half and with laced metal eyelets along calf and upper leg. Leather thonging terminates in a tassel.

Most of those who wear them are older people, but they have become popular among urbanites who may order them from a village shoemaker. Machine-made copies may also be purchased in larger towns.
