Three ancient wooden images, each representing a much conventionalised, squatting, nude male figure, with folded arms resting on its knwws, the eyes and mouth being inlaid with white shell: in two the head bears a triple crest, in one (h.24.5") the pedestal is square and ornately carved, and in one (h.26".6) orange-shaped, with plain culindrical base; and in one (h.24".3) the head is covered with a hat, and the upper half of the square-sided carved pedestal bears four large square perforations (h.24".3). ?Timor Laut. *Professor Bevan.'
