Context (Amendments / updates)
Catalogue record originally described this as a “woman’s palm leaf padi hat” but noted that is was “Also described as a fisherman's hat from Kenganee” and gave the place field as "Kenganee, Thailand." In fact this is a misreading of the Accession Register entries for 1963.121 and 1963.122. 1963.121 is a Trengganu fisherman’s hat from Malaya [Malaysia]. 1963.122 is a woman’s padi hat from central Thailand. The records have been updated to reflect this, and the data in the Place field changed.
