Context (CMS Context)
Number written on both objects in white ink: ‘Z44.731’. Tied together with a piece of white twine.
Label attached with twine reads [in black ink]: ‘Item No. Z44.731. Ingot tin currency. Hat-Money. Two examples of Pahang hat money – two buaya, value 2 cents, dated 1245 (1829). Sir `Richard Temple, Bart. M.A.?
Label reverse: ‘cf. Temple. Obsolete currency of the federated Malay States. Pages 6-7.’
Weight: 19.2 gram (weighed together). It is not clear why the Accession No field originally read 'Z 44731; ?1913.17-18', as E 1913.17 and 18 have both been found clearly labelled in this box. The number has therefore been removed from the Accession No field and moved to the MAA number field. Information generated by Liz Walsh, Mphil student in Social Anthropology on April 27 2016.
