The 1976 Register notes the collection 1976.1582 was collected and donated by 'R.K. Denton [sic]'. However, the Register entry for 1977.815 notes 'Richter/Dentan Coll Cont./ c&d R.K. Dentan.'
This confirms the 1976 Annual Report which notes 'Dr. and Mrs. Denton [sic]. Collection from the Mah Meri of Malaysia, including various household utensils, baskets, fishing nets etc' .

A covering card in the original card index reads: 'PART COLLECTION: "From the mah meri village on Pulan Carey off the Selangor coast. The mah meri are a Senoi people (ma = person, mri = inland) call themselves ma banwan (sea people). They exploit mangrove swamp and coastal sea." from Leta Richter 27 2 1976.
