Gaiter - Card 1: 'MAKAMAK. Leglets worn in variable numbers immediately below the knee plaited from the surface roots of the coconut palm; of smaller size - some [?ruddled] and decorated with pieces of [?worsted].'
Card 2: 'Bundle of leg bands plaited from fine surface roots of coconut. Some painted with red ochre and decorated with red wool material.'
Used in dances and ceremonies. Worn below knee by both men and women.
