Description

Pendant - Card 1: 'SAUAD. Artificially deformed boar's tusk, this specimen is thinned down, which is very unusual (perhaps unique) on it are 11 incisions, which probably indicate amatory adventures of the owner. The palp end is broken.'
Card 2: 'Boar's tusk, ground down, which is very unusual, and having 11 incisions, probably a tally of women seduced. The palp end is broken.'
Worn at conclusion of Malu-Bomai initiation ceremonies by leading men.
