Exhibited: 'Torres Strait Islanders: An Exhibition Marking the Centenary of the 1898 Cambridge Anthropological Exhibition' at UCMAA, July 1998 to December 2000, with following label " Ear-weights laip tut. Two weights made from wood. Ear-lobes wer distended and peirced at various intervals. As a sign of mourning a person would cut one of these holes. Masks and figures made by islanders have similar ears. Mer. c.A.C. Haddon 1889. Z 7544." [F. Veys]
