For making a sort of broken macaroni ' chendul' , each piece being about half an inch long. (A kind of dough made from common rice mixed with a little glutinous rice (' palut') to give it cohesion, it is put in the press which is then held over a pot (' Kuali') containing a mixture of sugar and coconut pulp; and the dough stirred strongly round (' di-uli') in the press till it falls into the ' Kuali' Collected by: Skeat.W.W
