Context (CMS Context)
2 samples of Besi Pamor are found in Z 42118. Card also reads: " Z no. issued 11 2 1986" Three steel plates used in the production of the kris blades. Specimen showing method of forming the pile, or layer, out of which the rod of damask is made which iswelded into a kris. The kris is made from 5 bands of iron and steel welded together and hammered into shape. The central band is of steel and will form the edge. Either side of that are two bands of (Besi Pamor) an iron bar bent into a scroll like pattern. It is then covered with 2 bands of mild steel; Collected by: Skeat.W.W
