Collected by: Skeat.W.W in : The flap at the top is played like a drum or rather tambourine the left hand being used to make it ' clack' and the right hand ' plucking' (' petik') the strings, including the two central flaps, which are merely devices for intensifying and improving the sound. The ' Keranting' or ' Keruntong' are similar instruments without the flaps. The end flap is called ' penenkah' and the two side ones ' chaping' . The wedge or ' pillows' ' bantal tali' as they are called on the W.C. are here (Lebih) called ' penyendal'
