Eight-grooved rifling, carved bellied butt with cheek rest. There are three ramrod pipes but the ramrod is missing.

Context (Analysis)
Flintlock rifle with octagonal barrel. The lock and majority of furniture including trigger guard and backsight, and solid side-late are missing. With foresight. Fitted with brass butt-plate. European in origin. Carving typical of Black Forest area but colours picked out locally. Chequering on wrist and forearm to for grip as well decoration. Very broad chequering (English is finer) Probably Austrian in origin.

Context (Amendments / updates)
This carving style is typical of Black Forest, Austrian region but the colour is picked regionally (in Malaysia). The checquering on the wrist appears to be broad, which is another indication of its Austrian origin (English checquering is finer).
